Townhouse Kitchen - My First Design Project

When I moved into my townhouse eight years ago, I had a builder's kitchen.  Although the cabinets were mid-range maple cabinets they came along with green laminate countertops.  I knew I wanted to update the kitchen but I didn't want it to be a trendy kitchen that would be dated as soon as the trends faded away.

I replaced the countertops, sink, faucet and added a backsplash.  Since it was the first time I was engaging in a major design decision, I was scared that I might pick the wrong materials.  It's not like you can return installed granite back to the store for an even exchange. :)  Now six years later, I think the kitchen still looks relevant and hopefully will continue to be for years to come. And I still love my faucet!

  1. If you're going to buy the whole lot, kitchen counter tops and counter top, some kitchen cabinet retailers have software that will help you. If you want to do a solo test, some designers have software that they can quickly do that for you.
